  • If you like a walk in the park, check out the Castaway Island Preserve. There’s a one-mile interactive trail where kids can follow animal prints with educational boards. You can kayak and paddle board here, as well. Bring a picnic and have fun!
  • If you love the city but need a break, the Jacksonville Arboretum & Gardens brings you back to nature. This park has 126 acres and seven trails.
  • Like to be active? Have fun? Need to get some energy out? Jacksonville is home to a few trampoline parks where you can bounce all day! This is a family-friendly activity. Check out Velocity Air Sports, Jumpstreet, Pump It Up, and Bravoz Entertainment Center.
  • Like history? Check out Walter Jones Historic Park. On Saturdays, volunteer docents provide historical knowledge. You’ll have access to the multiple buildings located onsite. Lots of artifacts from the Civil War to view.
  • Whether you want a lazy day or more of an adventure, Hanna Park offers both and everything in between. At this park, you can lay on the beach, have a picnic, grill, rent a bike or paddleboard, hike, and more!
  • Need to walk the dog? Bring him somewhere that you’ll both enjoy! Jacksonville has plenty of beautiful places where you can bring your dog including Dogwood Park, Kathryn Abby Hanna Park, and Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve.
