Museum of Science & History

Museum of Science & History – This museum’s galleries and exhibits aim to excite imaginations and inspire creativity to visitors of all ages through the topics of science and history. Some core exhibits include: the body’s systems, children’s health, children’s nutrition, animals of the Atlantic Coast, diverse energy sources, Jacksonville’s history, and more. The museum hosts monthly programs and events, and also houses a planetarium. Tickets cost $12.50 for adults, $10 for children, military and seniors, and children under 2 are free. The museum is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m. The museum is located at 1025 Museum Circle, Jacksonville, Fl.

Hanna Park

Hanna Park – Hanna Park is located at 500 Wonderwood Dr., Jacksonville, Fl. At this park, visitors can walk, bicycle, camp, splash in the splash park, go to the beach, and more! This park is home to the Dolphin Plaza, which is an oceanfront location great for banquets, weddings, and other events. There are lots of hiking and biking trails for people to explore. Inside the park, there is a 60-acre lake where people can fish, canoe, pedal boat, or kayak. There is a campground store (for camping supplies) and concession stand on site. Tree Hill Nature Center

Tree Hill Nature Center – Want to walk through the trees? See some butterflies? The Tree Hill Nature Center’s mission is to promote environmental stewardship to the community through educational programs and access to natural areas. This place houses more than 50 acres of trails, a Florida Natural History Museum, a butterfly garden, a hummingbird garden, animal exhibits, and more. The center is open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Donations are welcomed.
